Please find attached information on an upcoming parent learning session, which is being offered by the School Council at Aldergrove Public School.

 

If interested, they ask that families RSVP by Wednesday, April 5^th so that they can plan for the evening and co-ordinate childcare requests.

Good afternoon Parents/Guardians,

 

Plans are under way for our annual Fun Fair!  Please mark on your calendars the evening of Wednesday, June 28^th for our community event, which is sure to be a wonderful way to come together and celebrate the end of another school year.

 

It is worth noting that at last year’s Fun Fair, our School Council collected a number of parent signatures on a petition concerning pedestrian and road safety at the intersection of Brando and Golden.  This petition led to some action and consultation with the Active and Safe Routes to School Co-ordinator for the Board, which eventually led to a traffic operations assessment of the intersection by City of Markham staff.  As a result, and with thanks to the School Council for keeping this issue on the agenda, the recommendation to City Council will be that an all-way stop be implemented at the Brando/Golden intersection.  While we may not see the change until the summer or even the fall, we are very pleased with the outcome and the impact that a new all-way stop will have on improved community safety.
