A great start to our year!
Student reflection from our assembly.

School Kiss & Ride Policy

Here at Ellen Fairclough, we strive for eco-friendly actions.  We hope that all of our students who can safely walk/ride a bike to school try and do so.

For Parents who choose to drive their children we have the following in place to ensure the safest and smoothest Drop-Off Process

  • Staff will be on duty to facilitate a smooth Kiss ‘n’ Ride drop-off loop
  • The Kiss ‘n’ Ride is accessed using the southern most driveway entrance of the parking lot, and is a one way loop

  • Parents should follow the route and not drop off children until they are between the two pylons, where staff are located
  • Once children are dropped off, Parents should exit the parking lot through the northern most driveway entrance
  • Please DO NOT park at any point in the Kiss ‘n’ Ride Loop
At the end of the day, parents are asked to meet students outside at a pre-
determined meeting spot.

A heartfelt goodbye from Mr. Hamid....

Dear Fairclough Families,
It is with a bitter sweet heart that I write to inform you that as of September 2016, I will no longer be the Proud Principal of this incredible place Ellen Fairclough Public School. I have accepted a secondment with the Ministry of Education as a Student Achievement Officer scheduled to begin on September 6th, 2016. While I am looking forward to the new challenge that this opportunity will bring I will miss tremendously the students, staff and community of the place I have called home for the last three years, Ellen Fairclough! My time here has been a highlight of my career, filled with valuable learning and the building of many wonderful relationships with many community members. The staff at Ellen Fairclough is among the best in York Region, and the students are unrivaled in their kindness and thirst for knowledge. This is no doubt a result of the work that you as parents are doing to raise such fine young members of our society. I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you for helping to make me feel comfortable in this learning environment and more importantly for trusting us in the education of your children. The new Principal of Ellen Fairclough will be Mr. Kurt Chin who is currently at Markham Gateway P.S/Boxwood P.S. Mr. Chin brings with him many years of experience and knowledge that will no doubt continue the great learning that has been happening here. I wish you all good fortune and that your dreams and hopes for yourself and your children are realized.

Thank you again,

Mr. Mohamed Hamid

Ellen Fairclough PS: Fun Fair Thank you

Our Staff and Parent Council wanted to extend a big thank you to all families for coming out last night to our Fun Fair!  We were blessed with beautiful weather and as such had an amazing evening filled with many wonderful smiles and enjoyment. Thank you to all of the volunteers that supported this event. It could not have happened without you!!!!!!

We welcome and feedback and suggestions as to how to grow our fun fair to make it even bigger next year. Once again all of the money that was raised will go directly towards supporting our students in their classroooms.

Again, thank you for supporting our children and Ellen Fairclough PS.
